Case Study: The Black Demon – Pinewood Dominican Republic

One of our most demanding on-location deployments was for the feature film The Black Demon, shot at Pinewood Studios in the Dominican Republic. Working in 40°C heat with high humidity, our team deployed the Cyber Rig in just two days. Despite the conditions, the rig performed flawlessly, capturing detailed scans of both cast and props.

This shoot included:

  • A full Cyber Rig setup managed by a three-person team (though deployment is possible with just two)
  • Complete volumetric scans of characters and assets used in VFX-heavy sequences
  • Removing a tarantula that was hidden amongst the kit!

This project is a prime example of how our technology adapts to extreme environments, delivering studio-grade results without compromise.

Why Portability Matters to Clients

Speed: Rapid deployment means less downtime on set.
Cost-Efficiency: Our lightweight packing methods keep transport costs down.
Flexibility: Adapt to any environment without compromising on quality.
Scalability: Our full body rig can be adapted to a high detail head only rig further reducing costs where both full body and high-res scans are required.
