Real-World Spatial Capture for Apple Vision Pro
Human Within is an immersive experience built for Apple Vision Pro… spatial computing rather than a flat screen, which changes what ’good enough’ scan data actually means. Geometry approximations that nobody would notice on a monitor become obvious the moment you’re standing inside them.
We scanned the real-world environments and subjects the experience is built from, using structured-light scanning for close subjects and terrestrial LiDAR for the surrounding environments… different tools for different spatial scales, because a face and a room don’t need the same capture approach. The resulting point clouds and meshes were processed and optimised for real-time rendering on-device, balancing geometric detail against what Vision Pro can actually render at frame rate.
This is essentially the same scanning discipline we’ve built up on film sets for years, applied to a medium where the audience isn’t watching from a seat… they’re standing in the space. We think that’s where a lot of professional 3D capture work is heading next, and we’d rather be early to it than catching up later.
