VS Scout Privacy Policy
VS Scout (“the app”) is made by Visualskies LTD (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app uses and where it goes. In short, we don’t collect, store or sell any personal data. The app has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising.
Information the app uses on your device
- Location (optional). If you allow it, the app uses your device’s location to start the map where you are and to tag your stills and videos with where they were framed. The location is processed on your device and is not sent to us.
- Camera (optional). The camera is used only in AR mode, to show the live view and track the device’s movement. Camera images are not recorded or transmitted unless you choose to capture a take.
- Microphone (optional). The microphone is used only if you record narration with a video take. Audio is saved with the video on your device.
- Photos. The app saves the stills and videos you capture to your Photos library. It does not read your existing photos.
- Projects and shot lists. Your projects, shots, camera settings and any 3D models you import are stored locally on your device. Exported files, such as CSV shot lists, go only where you choose to send them.
Third-party services
To display the 3D map, the app streams map tiles directly from Google Map Tiles API (Photorealistic 3D Tiles). As with any web request, Google receives your device’s IP address and which map areas are being loaded. We do not receive this information. Google’s handling of it is covered by the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Maps Platform Terms.
If you search for a place by name, the search is sent to the geocoding service that resolves it, under that provider’s privacy terms.
What we don’t do
- We don’t operate servers that receive your data.
- We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
- We don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- We don’t sell or share personal data.
Children
The app is a professional tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Your choices
You can turn location, camera, microphone and Photos access on or off at any time in iOS Settings → VS Scout. Deleting the app removes all of its locally stored data from your device.

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above.
