- Assembly of modular camera rigs and calibration target boards.
- Basic understanding of optics, focal lengths and spatial alignment.
- Safe handling of sensitive high-end optical equipment.
On-Set Scan Capture
Executing high-speed geometry and texture acquisition for principal actors, costumes, props, environments and set pieces.
- Operating LiDAR stations and hand-held structured light scanners.
- Managing capture sequences efficiently during tight turnaround windows.
- Verifying scan coverage and resolution quality live on set.
Data Management & Processing
Ingesting, organising and pre-processing point cloud and photogrammetry data on-site, or back at the mobile workflow unit.
- Organising raw shoot data according to strict naming conventions.
- Running initial alignment passes in tools like RealityCapture or Metashape.
- Secure backup management and digital asset delivery to VFX pipelines.
Actor & Department Collaboration
Interacting professionally with cast, costume designers, ADs (Assistant Directors) and VFX supervisors on the floor.
- Guiding talent through body/head scan poses with clarity and professional courtesy.
- Working respectfully alongside costume, hair and makeup departments.
- Maintaining professionalism and discretion on confidential film sets.
Set Safety & Compliance
Adhering strictly to health, safety and operational standards within active studio and location environments.
- Complete compliance with set risk assessments and laser safety standards.
- Proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
- Active awareness of heavy machinery, lighting rigs and moving camera booms.
Location Mobility & Shifts
Navigating location changes, international travel and flexible production call times.
- Travel flexibility for location shoots (domestic & international).
- Adaptability to early morning or night shoot schedules.
- Clear pre-production travel planning and per-diem management.
