Some capture jobs happen on soundstages. These didn’t. The adventure tag collects Visualskies’ expedition work — projects where the scanning kit travelled by boat, mule and bush plane to places production equipment was never designed to go. Multiple seasons of Lost Cities with Albert Lin took our team to Petra, the high Andes, Acre and the remote Pacific ruins of Nan Madol, flying aerial LiDAR and running photogrammetry in heat, humidity and altitude that stress both people and electronics.
Expedition capture is its own discipline: everything must be portable, redundant and repairable in the field, because there’s no rental house within a thousand miles. The posts here document that craft alongside the discoveries it enabled — including capture that revealed archaeological features invisible to conventional survey. It’s also, honestly, the work the team tells stories about afterwards. If your production is heading somewhere difficult and needs world-class capture to come along, this tag is our credentials.
