3D Scanning for the Kingsman Franchise

Kingsman: The Golden Circle expands Matthew Vaughn’s spy franchise to include Statesman, its American counterpart, across bourbon country, a mountain-top villain lair and the kind of kinetic action sequences the series is known for. We provided 3D scanning for the production, capturing set geometry and location reference for the VFX pipeline.

We combined point cloud processing with high-resolution photogrammetry to deliver fully textured assets rather than bare geometry… the Kingsman films run on precisely choreographed action with heavy digital augmentation layered over practical stunt work, which means the scan data underneath has to be accurate enough that the join between real and composited action never becomes visible mid-sequence.

Deliverables followed the production’s pipeline spec: registered point clouds, processed meshes and HDR panoramic captures, delivered in formats compatible with the VFX vendor’s workflow and coordinated with the supervisor to make sure every environment in the shooting brief was covered.

Kingsman has a specific visual register to protect… heightened, but never so far removed from reality that the stunt work stops feeling grounded. Holding that balance across sequences blending physical and digital elements comes down to how well the geometry underneath lines up, and that’s the part we were there for.
