Case Study 1 — Preservation and Digital Legacy
Preservation is an ambitious film from Anna Dobos, exploring ecological collapse, cultural memory and digital conservation. It asks how technology (from LiDAR to photogrammetry) can both document and alter our relationship with the natural world. The directors pull from themes of digital glitching and ghosting to question what is truly preserved when a landscape is digitally copied, and how those records may outlive the real spaces they depict.
To ground this complex narrative in reality, Visualskies provided high-fidelity 3D scans of the Portland site. These assets became the spatial backbone for the film’s production and visual effects.

Case Study 2 — Echoes of the Earth: Living Archive
Grounding a World-Scale Nature Model in Real Space
Echoes of the Earth: Living Archive (an immersive exhibition by media artist Refik Anadol with Dataland’s Living Encyclopedia) turns the Serpentine North Gallery into a living, breathing portrait of the planet. At its heart is the Large Nature Model (LNM): a pioneering AI model trained on millions of images and datasets of rainforests, fungi, coral reefs and other ecosystems. The model generates endlessly shifting, dream-like visions of the natural world, inviting visitors to reflect on how technology remembers and reimagines nature.
To feed this groundbreaking model with authentic, high-resolution references of the natural world, Visualskies captured detailed 3D scans of plants, organic forms and real environments. To make sure that we captured nature in all its minute beauty, we constructed a purpose built mini-cyber rig for capturing specularity maps.
These scans became a large part of the training and calibration dataset behind the LNM, ensuring the AI’s representations of flora and ecosystems were structurally accurate and visually faithful.

Case Study 3 — Marni: WEARWEARE
Digitising Fashion for a New Reality
For their Spring/Summer collection, Italian fashion house Marni collaborated with Visualskies to reimagine what a digital fashion experience could be. The result was WEARWEARE — a fully immersive virtual environment that blended fashion, technology and art to create an interactive, multi-sensory world.
Through the use of high-fidelity 3D scanning, Visualskies produced detailed digital doubles of Marni’s models and garments, forming the foundation for an interactive 3D lookbook, an AR interface, and a navigable virtual world. These scans enabled users to explore the Models from the show as hyper-real avatars moving, rotating, and interacting within a psychedelic landscape of colour and texture. On top of the production role, we advised the fashion based post house on getting the 3D data into their metaverse.
The project demonstrated how digital craftsmanship can extend storytelling beyond the runway.
